Catch The Bug-Stella Says Sketch challenge #132

I really enjoyed making this card and thought ,when I'd completed it, that it would work well as a baby card also. I love doing cards from sketches. Sometimes I change or tweak them a little, but when the sketch is a super layout, like the Catch The Bug Stella Says Sketch challenge, then sticking to it but making it your own is easy.
Whew, had a major crafting night tonight. I've made:
4 cards
An ornament
A door hanger
A small Easter basket
and numerous felt flowers!
I've got glue gun thumb and very little is left of my finger prints! The realisation that the glue gun hates me is one I should have come to long ago. I always, always burn myself no matter how careful I am. I've also got ruler finger, whereby the middle finger on my left hand gets sore from pressing too hard on the metal ruler to stop it slipping.
Had a little trip to hobbycraft on thurs night and hoarded some new supplies. My other half hates the place with a passion. Especially when we have nothing planned on Sundays,as there's nothing better than strolling round for a good hour seeing what goodies to get. I'll post pics sundaybof my makes as its a little late to be taking them now with no natural light.
Well I'm shattered, so it's off to bed now, night night!

Hairband a licious

I bought a pack of plain plastic hair bands from the supermarket and decided to crafty them up.
The one above I covered the band with some Gray stripy papermania capsule collection ribbon. I then made some flowers from crochet trim, just a running stitch along one edge, then pulling together to gather it up. I made three of these and added some coordinating spotty buttons, also from papermania capsule collection. I stitched the flowers together after I was happy with the positions, then hot glue gunned everything in place. As an afterthought I added a few buttons along the band as well.

For the next band I had some 2" wide lace trim. I stitched and gathered a 36" length into a flower. I then added some different dark red colours with my promarkers (yes, promarkers!) directly to the flower shape. The flower I then cut around roughly to make a 1 1/2" flower. I had a length of the lace that was roughly cut but was ideal for wrapping around the actual hairband. After wrapping the band, I added some ribbon bows to my flower and a matching red button. I glue gunned everything into place and that was the second one done.

Live life gorjuss

This isn't my usual style, I wanted to make a card for my daughter as she loves it when I surprise her with a card, it's a bit more distressed/roughed up than I would normally do. Anyway, she loved it.
I used:
Papermania card
Gorjuss 6x6 paper pack
Papermania urban stamps in bird print
Crochet trim from craft time in cream and some navy Lacey trim
Brown embroidery thread
Brown waxed thread
Tim holtz distress ink pad in old paper
Black and gold rhinestones
The banner shapes I stamped onto we're taken from a gorjuss note block
The sentiment was a magazine freebie I've had for a while
